Life Hacks from a Doctor! Part 1

If you've spent any time on the internet you must be familiar with the concept of "Life Hacks", little nontraditional tricks to make life better. One of my favorite involves cutting cherry tomatoes. If you still don't know what I'm talking about, check out this:

Now, you might be thinking to yourself "That's freaking brilliant!" BUT I'm here to tell you that I have developed an EVEN BETTER way to do it! One that leaves you with ZERO dirty dishes! No plates or knife to clean.

Step 1: Get a package of your favorite brand of cherry tomatoes. I prefer these cuz they are named after fat babies.

Step 2: Place a small amount of them into the palm of your hand, like this.

Step 3: Now, with a quick flip of the wrist, toss them puppies into your salad. Eventually you should have something like this (individual results will vary):

And that's it! No mess, no clean up, enjoy your salad like a boss.

Note, as an alternative to Step 3 you can substitute the salad for your own gaping mouth.

Why is Dr Brian going to Denver?

Later this evening I will leave the eastern half of the United States for the first time since February, heading back to Los Angeles. I'm not flying straight home though, I've scheduled a 3-day layover in Denver. I don't have any comedy gigs booked there, I'm not going to visit anyone in particular although I know people there, and as far as I know there aren't any big events scheduled in Denver this weekend. So why am I going?

If you've followed me over the past 5 years you'll know that I travel a lot. Before I started touring as a comedian and public speaker I traveled to about half the USA; touring has allowed me to see the other half and more. I've been everywhere, all 50 states, cities and towns that I didn't know existed, most national parks, scenic backroads, coastal communities, mountain towns: everywhere.

Everywhere EXCEPT the city of Cheyenne Wyoming. Cheyenne, the state's capitol, is the one remaining city of a sizable population that I have yet to set foot in. Cheyenne isn't a big city, but it's only about 90 minutes from Denver. That's why I'm going to Denver, this weekend I am completing my travel map of the United States. Other than the capitol, I don't know what to expect there, it could be interesting or it could suck but I will have the satisfaction of completing a mildly interesting personal goal.

Bloody Mary Censorship!

My name is Brian King. I am a public speaker and a comedian. For the past several years I have been relentlessly touring the country and started a project called "Bloody America” where I feature the many exotic, interesting, and unusual bloody marys I encounter in my travels. I am not famous, but between all of these activities I have a substantial following in social media and I regularly speak to 100-200,000 people every year.

To date, Bloody America is a hobby, it brings in no revenue although I've spent some on advertising, I offer free promotion to the venues whose drinks I feature.

Tonight I had planned to write about the Bloody Mary at “Outriggers” in Seabrook, TX. I ordered one, took pictures of it, drank it and was on my way out when the manager (I’m assuming) ran out to tell me I was not allowed to post the photos I had just taken.  I thought this was odd since I offer nothing but free publicity and that, as I write this, their Yelp page has 62 photos all taken in the restaurant, including 13 of their bloody mary. But whatever, I’m not going to argue myself into extra work. I acquiesced and then things got really weird.

She insisted that I delete the photos from my camera, in front of her so that she could see. Besides being a violation of my privacy, as I have other photos on my camera that are not of her bloody mary, I explained that I took too many to do it quickly and I’d do it when I got home. This was apparently not good enough for her and she kept demanding, threatening to call the police and take further action, whatever the hell that is, as I walked away.

So no, I am not reviewing their bloody mary. Nor am I posting the photos I took at their establishment.
